It’s great to see the influences photographers have on each other. On the left is Josef Sudek in a self-portrait (circa 1940). On the right is Wynn Bullock in his portrait of “Barbara, 1956”. Sudek’s portrait highlights his view of his own brokenness (amputated arm) and a repeating motif of crooked trees. Bullock juxtaposes youth and old age together and highlights a harmony in nature. Both see a beauty in things broken and natural.
